Inez Rogers Fields – Gate City, VA Jessie Inez (Rogers) Fields, 88, Gate City passed Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center with close friends and family by her side. Mrs. Fields was born in Scott County, VA on April 30, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Claborne and Annalee (Webb) Rogers. Inez was an excellent seamstress and worked at Dee’s Cleaners for several years. She was an honored worker for Mountain Empire Older Citizens. In addition to her parents, 10 siblings preceded her in death. Her survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ray Fields, Sr., Gate City, VA; son, Ray Fields, Jr., Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Michael Fields and wife, Christie, Duffield, VA, Gwen Quillen and husband, Craig, Gray, TN, Jessica Jessee and husband, Nathan, Kingsport, TN, and Amber Bellamy and husband, Scott, Yuma, VA; 9 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews; lifetime friend and daughter-in-law, Judy Calton, and special friend, Zola Baker. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Bill Tignor officiating. The Sluss Family will provide the music. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Michael Fields, Danny Cooper, Phil Williams, Freddie Roberts, Mac Dorton, Fred Rhodes, Jerry Broadwater, and Gary Hammonds, will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Thursday to go in procession to the graveside service.
