It is with sadness that the family and friends of Mitchell Hum, 76, of LaHave Manor, Dayspring announce his passing on November 8th, 2014 at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Mitch was born in mainland China and later followed his uncle and moved to Hong Kong. Mitch arrived in Canada in the early 1950’s arriving in Halifax from San Francisco. Upon arriving in Halifax he began working for the Acadia Hotel as a waiter. Mitch has touched many lives during his years in Nova Scotia, most recently during his time spent at LaHave Manor where he has resided since 2003. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A memorial service to celebrate Mitch’s life will take place at 1: 30 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at LaHave Manor, Dayspring, Deacon Patrick Morris, officiating. Interment will be in Hong Kong. In lieu of flowers donations to LaHave Manor or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
