Ralph Smith

Ralph Lee Smith, 83, of Clarksburg, formerly of Morgantown, passed away surrounded by his family at 3:50am, Friday, October 31, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Marshville, WV, August 5, 1931 a son of the late Waldo and Iva Marie Strother Smith. Surviving are three sons, Eric D. Smith and his wife Gina Stewart, Morgantown, Bruce L. Smith and his wife Denise, Morgantown, Phillip J. Smith and his wife Sherrie, Kauai, HI, four grandchildren, Heston, Hayden, Elaina, and Chase, two great-grandchildren, T.J. and Marcus, his long-time companion, Marie Reynolds, Clarksburg, and her children, Donnie Reynolds and his wife Diane, Jane Lew, Dawna Vecchio and her husband Dr. Mark Vecchio, Bridgeport, and Marie’s grandchildren, Christopher, Alisha, Kristian, Adrea, and Briana, her great-grandchildren, Ansley, Avery, Bailee, and Rylee, his former wife and mother of his children, Pauline Smith, Morgantown, one brother, Dale Smith and his wife Ruth Ann, Louisa, KY, one sister Bernice Moore and her husband Gene, Clarksburg, his sister-in-law, Angie Smith, Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Argel Smith. He had worked as an electrician, Local IBW 596, Clarksburg. He was a 1949 graduate of Victory High School. Ralph was a Korean veteran having served with the United States Army. He was a member of the Aurora Lodge #43 AF & AM, Newburg, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and an associate member of the retired school employees. He loved to watch birds and travel and was always known for helping other people. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Friday, where funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 8, with Pastors Jeff Perine and Gina Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral Home is honored to serve the Smith family.
