Harold “June” Shingleton, Jr, 92, of Connellsville, formerly of Munhall, PA, died Sunday, November 2, 2014, at home. He was born on October 30, 1922, at Lost Creek, WV, the son of the late Harold D. and Cleo Cunningham Shingleton. He is survived by his daughter Roberta F. Shilley and husband Terry of Huntington, WV, and daughter Gwendolyn J. Weimer and husband Gregory of Connellsville, PA. He had several grandchildren: Stephanie Weimer of Camp Hill, PA; Jessica and Ashleigh Weimer of Philadelphia, PA; Ryan Shilley of Pittsburgh, PA; Lindsey Weimer of Wilmington, NC; Whitney Weimer Grabowski and husband Evan of Indiana, PA; and Christina Shilley of Huntington, WV. He is also survived by a brother Robert Shingleton of Shinnston, WV, and a sister Gwendolyn Shingleton Gross of Meadowbrook, WV. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah M. Rowand Shingleton, brothers Frederick and William of Shinnston, WV, brother Donald of Uniontown, OH, and a sister Harris Ann Shingleton of Shinnston, WV. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army, and was employed by the United States Steel Corp., Homestead, PA, until his retirement. Harold was a man of God who honored the Lord daily by the life he lived, and encouraged others to live likewise. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and for his kindness, generosity, and compassion for others. He was an active and faithful member of the Connellsville Area Church of Christ. He leaves behind a legacy that was paramount to him to serve God, his family, the church, and others with the hope of inheriting eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren, siblings, other family members, and friends. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, WV from 2-4pm and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 7, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, at 2 p.m. at the Perine Funeral Home, Shinnston, WV.
