Irene G. Marburger

Irene G. Marburger, 74, of Orchard Park Dr., formerly of Edgewood Ave, passed away peacefully the morning of November 1, 2014 with her loving family at her side. Born on January 31, 1940 in New Castle, Irene “Rene” Marburger was the daughter of the late Nellie Christofer Glassi and the late Dewey Glassi. She was married to her devoted husband, Dennis R. Marburger, for 49 years until he preceded her in death on March 28, 2012.

Rene, a lifelong educator, retired as a director for Erie Business Center South, formerly known as the New Castle Business College, where she both directed and taught for 43 years. Prior to that, she taught at Riverside School District where she began her career. She was an alumna of Penn State University and Youngstown State University. Rene cherished the time she spent with her family and will be sadly missed.

Rene is survived by her daughter, RaeLyn Marburger of New Castle; aunt, Jane Morgan formerly of New Castle; and numerous close cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.

Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. David A. Snyder, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church.

Interment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
