Edward Allen Struthers, 87, of Grants Pass died Oct. 27, 2014, at Fair View Transitional Health Center.A private service is planned. The youngest of five children, he was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Plover, Iowa, to Ernest and Nellie Struthers. He graduated from high school in Rolfe, Iowa, and served in the Navy during World War II. In 1947, he married Norma Knight. They had two children and later divorced.He worked in the grocery business and owned a store until 1957, when he moved his family to California. He then worked in the insurance industry and was a developer until he retired.He joined the Masons at a young age and later joined the Shrine. He enjoyed gardening.In addition to his wife, Joanne Struthers, survivors include a daughter, Kathy Struthers Murray of Newport Beach, Calif.; a son, Tim Struthers of Medford; a sister, Evelyn Gans; his former wife, Norma Struthers; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
