Christine “Chris” Fore Honaker, age 73, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (October 26, 2014) at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. Born April 9, 1941 in Glade Spring, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Hazel White Fore. She was a 1958 graduate of Glade Spring High School, where she spent her early life, but moving to Honaker, Virginia where the majority of her years were spent. Always putting others needs before her own, she chose a career in nursing, receiving her LPN from Mattie Williams Nursing School. She specialized in the Obstetrics area and had worked at both Clinch Valley Medical Center and Russell County Medical Center after nursing for over forty years. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Fore and Frankie Fore. Survivors include one daughter, Susan Honaker Riddle and husband, Joe of Culpeper, Virginia; one son, Robert Scott Honaker of Abingdon, Virginia; four grandchildren, Joseph Riddle, Jacob Riddle, Kori Honaker, and Kalvin Honaker; one brother, Ronnie Fore and wife, Dot of Glade Spring, Virginia; mother-in-law, Helen Honaker of Honaker; sister-in-law, Barbara Fox and husband, Steven; brothers-in-law, Garland Honaker and wife, Wilma and Larry Honaker and wife, Midge; several special nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vonley Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in the form of donations to Bethany Baptist Church Awana Program; 7623 Finney Road, Honaker, Virginia 24260.
