Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Edward Leahy, age 81 of Ludington passed away on Saturday October 25, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 28, 1933 in Springfield, MA, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Griffin) Leahy. Chuck attended the American International College in Springfield, MA, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He then attended Northwestern University, where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Accounting. Chuck was drafted into the United States Army on October 8, 1956 as an instructor of accounting in the United States Finance School. He was honorably discharged on October 7, 1958. Chuck married Linda M. Jordahl on April 2, 1971 in Plymouth, MI, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Chuck worked as a business executive for Ann Arbor Bank, Comerica Bank and retired from McKinley & Associates on December 31, 2001. His retirement here in Ludington was a perfect ending to a long working career. He enjoyed hiking, reading, snowshoeing, running and making wooden model boats. Chuck is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Leahy of Ludington; son, Daniel (Kimberly) Leahy of Corona, CA; daughter, Karen Hanson of Harrisonburg, VA; and grandchildren, Alexandra and Chaz Leahy. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Shirley (Keen) Leahy; and brother, Thomas Leahy. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service for Chuck will be held at 11:00AM on Friday October 31, 2014 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Chuck may be directed to Harbor Hospice.
