Thomas J. Passolt Thomas J. Passolt, age 80 died October 23, 2014 at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington. He was born on December 23, 1933 in Saginaw, son of the late Thomas J. and Gladys I. (Denton) Passolt, Sr. After attending Ferndale High School, he earned an accounting degree from Michigan State University and enlisted in the U. S. Army on July 20, 1955, serving until his honorable discharge on May 30, 1963. He was employed by Shell Oil Company 4 ½ years and Ford Motor Company 27 ½ years, retiring from Ford Motor Company on January 1, 1989. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Royal Oak and enjoyed hobbies in photography, reading, traveling, hiking, especially loved being outdoors and State Parks. Thomas married Margot Rauhut on June 18, 1955 in Lansing, MI at the Central Methodist Church. He is survived by wife Margot; 3 children, Diane (Allan) Segel of Troy, Mark of Ludington and Bill (Helene) of Petoskey; 3 grandchildren, Phillip (Kristina) Segel of Auburn, WA, Jason Segel of San Diego, CA and Emily Passolt of Royal Oak; and great-grandchild, Thomas Segel of Auburn, WA Thomas is preceded in death by his brother, Dale and wife Jean; and brother-in-law, Kyle Wright. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Memorial contributions in memory of Thomas may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of choice.
