Whilimine Dibeler

Whilimine Dibeler of Lebanon, PA and formerly of Hummelstown, PA passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Lebanon. She was 95. Born in Hummelstown in 1919 she was the youngest of 6 children of the late Charles E. and Katherine M. (Lerch) Ludwick. “Wimp” as she was called by her school mates at Hummelstown High School was a member of the class of 1937. She participated in school music and drama programs and was a member of the cheer leading squad. An accomplished musician, Wimp played the upright base in a local dance band. It was during this time she met the man who became her husband, Harry E. Dibeler, a saxophone player from Middletown, PA. They were married that year. “Willie” as she was known later in life, was an employee of Verdelli Farms, Hummelstown, the former Hauer’s Department Store, Hummelstown, and she was retired from the former Gimbel’s Department Store, Harrisburg. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, where she sang in the church choir and lead many youth programs. She is survived by sons Ronald S. and wife Susan (Lebo) Dibeler of Myerstown, Richard E. and wife Susan (Bredbenner) Dibeler of Hummelstown, and Thomas W. husband of Lester E. Fawber of Palmyra, and daughter Mary Jane Geesaman wife of Earl Geesaman of Lebanon. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Dibeler in 1982, son-in-law Clyde R. Neidigh in 2009 and daughter Anna ¬¬¬Mae Neidigh in 2011. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the services. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036 or to the benevolence fund at Spangcrest Manor, c/o the Philanthropy Office at Luthercare, 600 East Main Street, Lititz, PA 17543.
