Ruby Cobb

Ruby Burkheart Cobb, age 60, passed away Sunday, October 19th, 2014 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. She was born August 14th, 1954 in Columbus, OH. She was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Temple and a graduate of Bowling Green State University. Ruby worked as a social worker for the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA) and CMACOA Head Start. During her time there she had an opportunity to do what she loved best, helping others. She had a passion for baking and loved to prepare meals for family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, James and Dorothy Burkhart. Survived by loving husband, Eugene Cobb, Jr.; children, Tajuan Burkheart (Jeffrey Lawhorn), Eugene Cobb III and Michelle Cobb; sisters, Eva Jackson, Renee Brooks and Lena Burkheart; brothers, James Burkhart and John (Linda) Davis; sisters-in-law, Emma Chappelle and Carla Austin; brother-in- law, Phillip Cobb; special friends, Shirley Watkins, Donna Swan and Bill Swan; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thanks to the St. Ann’s staff for the special care they provided. Funeral service Saturday 10am Apostolic Lighthouse Temple Church, 2161 Lehner Rd, Pastor Robert C. McCaskill, Sr., officiating, where the family will receive friends 9am until the time of services.
