Donna Jean VanWinkle age 66 of Berea, passed away Sunday October 19, 2014 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Donna was born in Berea to the late David Grant and Ruby Lee Newman. She retired from Parker Seal Company before becoming a pharmacy tech at Pattie A. Clay Hospital for a brief time. She was a member of Berea Church of God. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister Linda Bookout. She is survived by her husband Boyd VanWinkle, her children Kimberly (Jimmy) Turner, Michael VanWinkle, step-children Boyd “Bo” VanWinkle Jr., Blaine VanWinkle and Rhonda Kay Reed, her siblings Vivian King, Phyllis (John) Tripp, David Newman, Norma (Ralph) Jackson, Delbert (Lisa) Newman, Steve (Sharon) Newman, Ronnie Newman, Terri (Wayne) Anglin and Jerry(Gina) Newman. Two special grandchildren Jarred (Rena) Turner and Brooke (John) Means, nine grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren also survive her. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday October 23, 2014 at Berea Church of God with Pastor Stephen Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm at Berea Church of God. Active pallbearers will be Roger VanWinkle, Brent Dodds, Darrell Baker, John Means, Jarred Turner and Jimmy Turner.
