Mr. Floyd Ramsey Sims, age 47, of Swords Creek, Virginia, went to Heaven along with Papaw, Jerry Marshall on Friday (October 17, 2014 in a Giles County, Virginia hospital. Born October 31, 1966 in Richlands, Virginia, he was the son of the late Arvil and Deloris “Lois” Hess Sims. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1986 graduate of Honaker High School and had attended Virginia Highlands Community College. He had been employed as an operator for Pike Electric since 2007. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his kids more than life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one very special niece, Amber Sue Ann Lowe. Survivors include his wife of twenty-three years, Amanda Sims of the home; two sons, Brian Ramsey Sims and Dylan Cordell Sims both of the home; two sisters, Tina Dye of Honaker and Tammy Sims of Lebanon; one brother, Jerry Sims of Honaker; special sister-in-law, Marsha Presley; special uncle, Richard Sims; several additional aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a very special friend of the family, Shawna Peck also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dallas Dye officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Terry “Buckhorn” Mustard, Ernie Riggleman, Robert Lee Thompson, Scott Drennen, Wayne Thompson and Frankie Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Zac Marshall, Melvin Orr, Dallas Dye, Vernie Dye, Tim Dye and Charlie McNerlin. The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Monday.
