Edna Mae Pezone, 96, of New Castle, formerly of Hazel St, passed away October 19, 2014 at Jameson Care Center. Born on November 22, 1917 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Edward Varley and Bertha Mumbaugh Varley Diamond. On November 21 1940, she married her beloved husband, Rodger Pezone, and the two spent 60 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on April 9, 2001.

Edna was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Carole Mastrangelo and Debbie Hershberger and husband Terry, all of New Castle; grandchildren, George Mastrangelo, Susan Flamino and husband Brian, Mark Mastrangelo, and Michael Mastrangelo; and great-grandchildren, Ali Flamino, Lea Flamino, and Christina Flamino. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Louis Diamond; sister, Virginia Fundoots; brothers, Albert and Edward Varley; and son-in-law, George Mastrangelo.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A blessing service will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30am at the funeral home, officiated by Father William Siple of St. Joseph the Worker Church.

Entombment will take place at Parkside Mausoleum.
