Margaret Eager

Margaret Alice Eager, age 91 of Manistee, formerly of Williamsburg and Royal Oak, died Wednesday October 15, 2014 at her daughter’s home. She was born March 25, 1923 in Detroit the daughter of the late John Purse and Ethel Rebecca (Atkinson) Todd. She attended Mackenzie High School in Detroit. On May 15, 1948 Margaret married John J. Eager, Jr. at the Metropolitan Methodist Church in Detroit; he preceded her in death on March 19, 1983. She was employed as an Administrator at William Beaumont Hospital for 18 years; retiring in 1985. She was a member of Metropolitan Methodist Church in Detroit and regularly attended Williamsburg Methodist Church. Her family and church activities were her priorities. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Carol (Joe) Renis of Elk Rapids and Julie (Matt) Phillips of Manistee, and three grandchildren, Rebecca Renis, Rachel Phillips and John Phillips. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Eager on August 11, 2001; her sister, Evelyn Zook; and brother, John Todd.
