BASKETT, M. Irene - At her residence on Sunday October 12, 2014. M. Irene (nee Wilson) of Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock and formerly of Canterbury St., Woodstock in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Thomas George Baskett (1990). Dear mother of Allan and his wife Pat, Linda Thompson and her late husband Paul (2007) and Elinor Redden and her husband Kerry. Loved grandmother of Steve (Pauline) Baskett, Robert (Jackie) Baskett, Brian Baskett, Donna Thompson and great grandmother of twelve. Dear sister-in-law of Marguerite Baskett and survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her brothers Carmen and Calvin Wilson and by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Irene was the last surviving member of her own family. She was a long time member of St. David’s United Church, St. David’s UCW and was a graduate of the Woodstock General Hospital School of Nursing (1942). Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday October 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11:00 am with the Rev. Jane Van Patter officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment later in the Princeton Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
