Charlotte A. McSurdy Paine, 62, of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Shenandoah on July 24, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Helen Sholtis McSurdy. Charlotte was a Data Entry Clerk for the former Synertech, Harrisburg. She was a 1970 graduate of Middletown High School. Through Charlotte’s love of animals she was a strong supporter of the Humane Society. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed shopping and couponning. Charlotte absolutely loved spending time at her home, but her number one priority was being with her grandchildren. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Paine, with whom she spent 22 years together; one son, Casey D. Clark husband of Jill B. of Palmyra; one daughter, Kyra J. Lutz wife of Chad T. of Palmyra; two step-sons, Dylan S. Paine husband of Abby of Palmyra, and Ryan O. Paine husband of Sara G. of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, MacKenzi M. Clark, Owen G. Clark, Mason T, Lutz, Sienna G. Lutz, Laura K. Soghomonian, Colton D. Paine, Tyler J. Bixler, and Sofia E. Paine; one sister, Joan Wynn wife of Charles of Middletown; and one brother, Lewis McSurdy of Middletown. A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Friends and relatives are invited to greet the family in the funeral home Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.
