Sydney Ethel Wheaton, age 72 of Scottville passed away on Thursday October 9, 2014 surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on December 31, 1941 in Ludington, the daughter of the late John Richard and Buelah Mae (Faubert) Fischer. Sydney attended Manistee High School and married Walter M. Wheaton on June 13, 1959 in Manistee, Michigan. She was a homemaker and enjoyed horses and horseback riding and also the slot machines. Sydney is survived by her husband Walter; daughter, Shelly (Kevin) Lawton; son, Mark Wheaton; grandkids, Travis (Kate) Wheaton, Andrew Wheaton, Craig Wheaton, Torrey Adams, Chadwick (Krystal) Lawton; 3 great-grandkids; special nieces and nephews, Sherry Fischer, Paul Fischer, Terry Fischer; nieces, nephews, cousins; 3 brother-in-laws and 1 sister-in-law. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jon Michael Fischer and Dennis Rodney Fischer. A Celebration of Life of will be held for Sydney from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington.
