Kenneth Brill

Kenneth Dennis Brill, 79, of Winchester, went peacefully home to be with Our Lord, Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Winchester Medical Center surrounded by immediate family. He recently confided to a friend at Spring Arbor Assisted Living Center that his greatest accomplishments in life were his wife and four daughters - together, they made “The Home that Love Built”. Mr. Brill was born August 20, 1935 in Winchester, VA; the son of William Roebuck Brill and Gladys Eugene Elliott Brill. He was an institutional food salesman for many years, having been associated with Winchester Foods for four years and Baer Foods until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Victory Church and served in many capacities and ministries. He formerly served as the Sunday School Superintendent for Shawnee Presbyterian Chapel. He was an active member of the Winchester Camp of Gideon’s International, The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, a Boy Scout Leader in the Gainesboro District, and a member of the Gainesboro Ruritan. He married Paula Cessna Brill on October 18, 1957 in Hagerstown, MD. Along with his wife, Kenneth is survived by four daughters, Robin Taylor of Winchester, Christy Thompson (Terry) of Inwood, WV, Kendra Brewer (Philip) of Winchester and Amy Barrett (R. Kevin) of Bunker Hill, WV; one brother, Harry Brill (Olivia) of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Nancy Coverstone (Robert) of Stephens City, VA; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Brill and Russell Brill and one sister, Jeanette Brill. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. pm at Victory Church in Winchester. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11:00am at Victory Church, 2870 Middle Road, Winchester, VA 22601, with Pastor David Cunsolo, Pastor Hartley I Wigfield, and Pastor Aaron Brewer officiating. Burial will follow the service in Mount Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Coverstone, Don Adams, Paul Moynahan, Carlos Garcia, Jeremy Williams and Curtis Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Madison Brewer, David Hagler, Jeremy Andersen, Roy Thomlinson, Sylvester Brisco, James Dodson, Joe Lingo and Bob Williams. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601.
