Mrs. Nadine Perkins Honaker, age 73, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday morning (September 28, 2014) at her home. Born September 16, 1941 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Ocie Ray Perkins and a lifelong resident of the area. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith and attended several area churches. A devoted Christian, she spent her years supporting and assisting her husband with his ministry and was a light to all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting others first. Words cannon express the love she showed her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Thurman Honaker, two brothers, James Perkins and Virgil Perkins, two sisters, Evelyn Belcher and Nola Miller, and two infant siblings. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Vandyke and husband, Mike, Rebecca Reynolds and husband, Mark, and Angela Viers and husband, Joseph all of Honaker; two sons, Terry Honaker and wife, Missy, and Jeff Honaker and wife, Karen all of Honaker; grandchildren, Matt Vandyke, Josh Vandyke, Kayla Ray and husband, Matt, Justin Honaker, Jerod Honaker, Courtney Honaker, Brittney Dye, Krista Dye, Devin Viers, Madison Viers, and Landon Viers; two step-grandchildren, Logan Reynolds and Emily Reynolds; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Robinson and Kamden Robinson; one expected great-grandchild; two sisters, Joyce Miller and husband, Eugene of Lebanon, and Patty Honaker of Swords Creek; one brother, Jerry Perkins of Swords Creek; special caregivers, Helen Musick and her sisters, Patty Honaker. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Divine Home Care for their love, support, and care of their mother. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. David Perkins and Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Compton and Devin Viers. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday.
