Madison, NC, Juanita Betterton Bush, age 89, of 516 West Murphy St. Madison, NC, entered into rest on September 27, 2014 at her residence. She was born on July 9, 1925, in Halifax County, the daughter of the late William Warren Betterton and the late Sadie Murphy Betterton. She was married to the late Frank Bush. Mrs. Bush is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Garry) Roupe of Madison, NC and Sandra Hunt of Danville; sons, Frank (Bobbi) Bush of Slidell, LA and Jimmy (Carol) Elliott of South Boston; grandchildren, Dustin Hitt, Johnathan Roupe, and Jason Doss; her brother, James Betterton of Nathalie; her sister, Peggy Tickle of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, Ben Betterton, J.W. Betterton, Junior Betterton, Rufus Betterton, Paul Betterton; and sisters, Ada Yeatts, Mildred Reaves, Nellie Jones, and Louise Meadows. A memorial service will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home on Monday September 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Richard Motley officiating. The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Hospice of Rockingham County.
