David Garland Johnston, R.N., 60, of Como, MS passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. Mr. Johnson was born on February 1, 1954 to The Late Mary Person Johnston and Donald Johnston. He was a registered nurse and a veteran of the United States Navy. He will be remembered mostly for his sense of humor; “Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright it won’t be the end.” Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Betty Johnson of Como, MS; two daughters, Kimberly Parker of Walls, MS and Leslie Pond (Christopher) of Southaven, MS; one sister, Ida Johnston, one niece, Virginia Johnston and one nephew, Trevor Johnston and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Johnston and Mary Pearson Johnston. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home – Senatobia Chapel has charge of arrangements.
