Libby gently left this world on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She was born on November 10, 1930 in Millinocket, the daughter of Eleazer and Ione Brown. After graduating from Stearns High School, Libby began her initial employment as the Business Manager for Sears Roebuck. She met and married the love of her life, Guy Dicentes Jr. on November 20, 1948. Libby, a member of the Greatest Generation, acquired expert skills in sewing, crafting and home making, and used her talents to raise a family of six children. Once her children were enrolled in school, Libby found her passion as Secretary to the Principal at Katahdin Avenue Elementary School. Her relationships with students and teaching staff over her 25 year tenure remained fond memories until her death. Libby was a life-long communicant of the Millinocket Congregational Church. She was active in and proud of many community organizations including the Garden Club and the Katahdin Area Support Group. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and three siblings: Ruth Cyr, Jacqueline Lyons and Donald Brown. She is survived by siblings Frances (Tani) Gagner of Burlington, Vermont; Robert Brown of Massapequa, New York and John Brown of Ithaca, New York. She is also survived by her six children: Joyce and Gary Berlucchi of South Portland; Jay and Leslie Dicentes of Standish; James and Theresa Dicentes of Millinocket, Joel and Debra Dicentes of Millinocket; Anthony and Cynthia Dicentes of Hollis Center; Kimberly and James Cullen of Phippsburg; ten beautiful and amazing grandchildren and their spouses; and eight adorable great-grandchildren with one on the way. Libby’s dearest treasures were her family, spending time at camp and her Millinocket roots. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for her wonderful, loving care during her years at 75 State Street and Cape Memory Care. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St, Millinocket. Funeral services will be held at the Millinocket Congregational Church on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow at the Millinocket Cemetery with family and friends invited back to the Congregational Church for a luncheon reception. Gifts in memory of Elizabeth may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St, Millinocket, ME 04462. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.lamsonfh.com.
