Hubert Jonas Georges, 77, of Hershey PA passed away on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014, after a brief illness. He always put everyone before himself and will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, PA at 2 p.m on Friday, September 26, 2014. Born on March 14th, 1937 in Brooklyn NY, he attended Fort Hamilton High School, and then went on to graduate from the State University of New York Maritime College. He had a long time love affair with the shipping business and went to sea when he was only 16 years old. While at sea he realized the benefits of air travel and for a brief period of time pursued a career as an airline pilot, completing his commercial pilot flight training program in 1971. He held many positions in sales and marketing including leadership positions in the foodservice, airline, travel and tourism industries. He was the National Sales Manager for Iceland Seafood Corporation and the founder and President of Food Action Food Brokerage Company. He was appointed Honorary Consul of Iceland in 1980, serving as foreign diplomat for almost 35 years.He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the guitar, traveling the globe and was an avid reader, keeping up with social, political and economic issues of the day.Hubert is survived by his wife Jana, four children, 9 grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
