GLENS FALLS, Ruth (McGeoch) Churchill, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Fort Edward. Born on July 14, 1930 in Argyle, She was the daughter of the late Rollin and Grace (Todd) McGeoch. She was a graduate of Argyle Central School class of 1948 and graduated from Albany School of Nursing where she received her LPN degree. Ruth was a LPN at the Glens Falls Hospital for many years where she used her natural gift of compassion and loving demeanor to all her patience. On May 22, 1951, Ruth married George Churchill in Lake George. He passed away on March 4, 2013. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth is predeceased by her brother, Paul McGeoch, son, Spencer Churchill and an infant daughter. Left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Janet Spielberger and husband Dr. Michael of Queensbury, son, Kevin Churchill of Rochester, grandchildren, Todd Spielberger of Mariett, GA, Jessica Romero and husband Daniel of Brooklyn, Mariah Shelton and husband Michael, Dustin Churchill and wife Kim and Keaton Churchill all of Portland, OR, great-grandchildren, Emmeline Shelton, Fox Michael Spielberger, sister-in-law, Barbara McGeoch and many nieces, nephews and cousins. At Ruth’s Request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September, 28, at the First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, 400 Glen Street, Glens Falls. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in North Argyle. Ruth’s Family would like to express thanks to the staff of Fort Hudson Nursing Home for their tremendous loving care and compassion.
