John R. Gay, Jr. age 33, a resident of Lake, MS passed away on Thursday September 18, 2014 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday September 21, 2014 from 3:30 PM until 5:30 PM and again on Monday September 22, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 2:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Monday September 22, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Ralph Hunt. Burial will be held in the Dennis Cemetery at a later date. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS is in charge of the arrangements. John was a lifelong resident of Lake, MS. He was a very talented artist and loved to fish. He loved the water and worked as a Merchant Mariner with Kirby Inland Marine, which he loved deeply. He loved his wife and children very much. John is preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Richard Gay and William Leon Hollingsworth; uncles, Tim Gay and William Keith Hollingsworth. He is survived by his wife, Tabitha Gay of Byram, MS.; father, John Gay, Sr. and wife Cassie of Lake, MS.; mother, Deborah Hollingsworth-Childs of Purvis, MS.; one daughter, Jayda Gay of Byram, MS.; two sons, Cayden Gay and James Gay both of Byram, MS.; one sister, Cherri Gay King of Lake, MS.; five brothers, Jamie Gay of San Luis Obispo, CA., Colby Yarbrough of Lake, MS., Johnathan Gay of Lake, MS., Josh Gay of Lake, MS., Jeremy Gay of Lake, MS.; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Gay of Lake, MS.; maternal grandmother, Sue McCullough of Sumrall, MS.; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
