Thomas Carpenter

Thomas H. Carpenter, 70, of Decatur, IN died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital. Thomas was born to Juanita (Hitchcock) Carpenter on July 19, 1944. He married Diane F. Black on March 29, 1963. Thomas was a graduate of Decatur High School in 1963. He was employed by Decatur Casting and retired after 38 years of service. Thomas is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diana Carpenter, their son Scott T. (Wendy) Carpenter of Cincinnati, OH, and their daughter Lauri E. Carpenter of Decatur. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Ellie, Sarah, and Nathan Carpenter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Jack Carpenter, and one sister, Judy Baughman. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday, September 19, 2014 with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made in memory of Ebony Fawcett to Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
