Robert Janis

Rocky was born to Guy “Boob” and Catherine “Skite” Janis on November 20, 1953. He was the youngest of four; two sisters, Lula (Leon) Bettelyoun, Wanda (Mark) Donovan, and George (Marcie) Janis. He attended high school at Oglala Community School (OCS). He worked for the tribe as a CHR for some years and property and supply. Rocky also worked at Indian Health Services for over 20 years and retired. Rocky is survived by- Sons: Jonathan Janis and Clarence Janis of Pine Ridge, SD Sisters: Wanda Donovan and Lula Bettelyoun of Pine Ridge, SD Grandchildren: Angelina Janis, Kaitlyn Janis, Keisha Janis, Briseis Janis and Treasure Janis all of Pine Ridge, SD Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Guy E. and Catherine (Goings) Janis; and brother, Guy George Janis Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD Burial Service: Holy Cross Episcopal Church Cemetery, Pine Ridge, SD Officiating: Rev.
