Betty Florine Collis, age 82, 740 North Elm Avenue, Erwin went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2014. She was born in Bostic, North Carolina but had lived most of her life in Unicoi County. Mrs. Collis was a daughter of the late Lyndon B. and Gertrude Pittman Johnson. She was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Collis was a homemaker. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Collis in 1986; one son, Michael Steve Collis in 2000; one daughter, Angela Jill Collis in 1974; two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Collis is survived by two daughters: Dianne Masters and husband, Gregg, Jonesborough; Gail Coe, Blacksburg, VA; one brother: Phillip Johnson and wife, Carolyn, West Jefferson, NC; five Grandchildren: Todd Elliott, Blacksburg, VA; Bethany Davis and husband, Todd, Jonesborough; Jon Elliott and wife Marisa, Durham, NC; Chris Masters and wife, Paula, Jonesborough; Drew Coe, Blacksburg, VA. four Great Grandchildren: Connor Davis, Aidan Elliott, Ayla and Aria Masters. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Service for Mrs. Collis will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jerry Willis officiating. Music will be provided by the Ninth Street Baptist Church Mixed Quartet accompanied by Becky Manfull. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Willis, Todd Davis, Todd Elliott, Jon Elliott, Chris Masters and Drew Coe. The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Committal service will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
