Paul Coffey Obituary

Paul A. Coffey, age 75, 106 Natalie Lane, Erwin, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of War, West Virginia and had lived most of his life in Unicoi County. Mr. Coffey was a son of the late Henry and Ruey Mae Hyett. He retired from Johnson City Bedding Company after thirteen years of service. Mr. Coffey was a U. S. Army Veteran and had served with the Army National Guard. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Loretta Sparks Coffey; one son, Kelvin Lee Coffey of Erwin; three daughters, Brenda Hawkins and husband, Kenneth of Johnson City; Dianne Coffey of Erwin and Rachel Forbes and husband, Robert of Erwin. One sister, Marie Coffey Goodman and husband, Jim of Jonesborough. Eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Coffey will be held Friday, August 29, 2014, at 8:00 P. M. from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. at the funeral home and other times at the home, 106 Natalie Lane, Erwin. Reverend Danny Hughes will officiate. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Pallbearers will be Kelvin Coffey, Josh Coffey, Jamie Lloyd, Ken Hawkins, Robert Forbes and Michael White. The family, minister, pallbearers and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 A. M. Saturday to go in procession to the Evergreen Cemetery for a 10:00 A. M. service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
