Eleanor Cooke Obituary

Eleanor Cooke's earthly pilgrimage of 95 years ended on August 26, 2014 when she was called to her eternal home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There she joined her beloved husband, Robert James Cooke who predeceased her in 2001. Eleanor was born September 20, 1918 in Germantown, PA to Frank and Ellen Jester. Eleanor was predeceased by two brothers George and Frank Jr., and two sisters Gertrude and Naomi. She has contributed to many wonderful memories that will be cherished by her family and friends. Eleanor leaves behind her daughter and son-in-Iaw Gayle and Andrew Brodersen of Coventry CT. She is also survived by 3 grandsons and their wives, Glen & Julie of Lancaster PA, Keith & Donka of Mt Tabor, NJ, and Calvin & Rebecca of Manchester, CT. Also surviving her are 3 great-grandchildren Jordanne, Luke and Hannah of Lancaster PA. Eleanor's family wishes to thank the staff at Manchester Manor for the compassionate care she has received since 2008. Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. There will be no calling hours. A service celebrating Eleanor's life wiII be held at The Presbyterian Church of Coventry on Saturday August 30 at 11 AM. Eleanor wiII be laid to rest beside her husband of 60 years in the Center Cemetery on Route 44 in Coventry CT.
