Luther W. Lowery, 82, of Winchester, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Blue Ridge Hospice In-Patient Care Center. Mr. Lowery was born October 17, 1931 in Frederick County, VA; the son of Luther W. Lowery, Sr. and Elsie Boyd Lowery. He graduated from Stephens City High School Class of 1950. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a machinist and shop supervisor with Dulles Airport. He was a member of Montague Avenue United Methodist Church, The American Legion and Eagles Aerie 824. He married Anna D. Lowery on November 22, 1952 in Frederick County. Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Wayne N. Lowery of Washington, DC, Jeanne L. Keeley and her husband, Tom of Virginia Beach, VA and Roy W. Lowery of Winchester; a brother, Ralph Lowery of Frederick County; and two grandchildren, Mallorie N. Keeley and Michaela M. Keeley. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Clark. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Brock and Rev. Anthony A. Wadsworth officiating. Entombment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
