Corene Perkins

Mrs. Corene Whited Perkins, age 89, of Rosedale, Virginia, passed away Saturday (August 23, 2014) in Hortense, Georgia. Born September 14, 1924 in Swords Creek, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Walter E. and Jenny Whited. She was a member of the East Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Perkins, five brothers, Carlos Whited, Eugene Whited, Earl Whited, Ferrell Whited, and Herrell Whited, and two sisters, Lydia Hess and Martha Liveley Survivors include one son, Gary Lively and wife, Connie of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Tina Schupp and husband, David of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three sisters, Goldie Hess of Swords Creek, Lee Shope of Rosedale, and Arlene Compton of Honaker; one brother, Mason Whited of Swords Creek; special friend, John Breeding of Rosedale; and four sisters-in-law, Marzella Risnik, Estelle Perkins, Betty Whited, and Hazel Whited. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Interment will follow in the Perkins Cemetery at Drill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Doug Whited, Ted Whited, Donnie Whited, Roger Dye, and Keith Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Larry Mitchell, Connie Hicks, and Betsy. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Monday.
