Ruth Darlene Theesfeld, 79 of Atchison, Kansas died Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 at Atchison Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Sat. Aug. 23rd, 2014 at the Faith Bible Fellowship Church with Rev. Steven Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Round Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service on Sat. at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Round Mound Cemetery or Faith Bible Fellowship Church and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Ruth D. Barber was born on June 12, 1935 in Atchison, KS. the daughter of Victor and Bessie (Mayfield) Barber. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1953. She later took some college child care development classes. She worked as a bookkeeper for K-Mart, and did Foster care for many children for over 17 years. She was a member of the Faith Bible Fellowship Church, was a member of the Tabatha Circle, and served as President of the Seniors of Faith Fellowship Group. She taught a bible class at Trinity Place Senior Housing. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, play cards and playing the piano. Anyone who had ever meet Ruth would say,” What a Sweet Lady she is”. Ruth was married to Eli Arnold for 34 years. They had six children. Ruth was later married to Thomas H. Theesfeld on Oct 17, 1994. Mr. Theesfeld preceded her in death on July 6, 2001. Survivors include three sons; Eli Arnold, Jr, Ridgefield, WA, Dan (Jenny) Arnold, Snoqualmie, WA, and Nathan (Sabre) Arnold, Rushville, MO., three daughters; Pam (Tom) Mayfield, Horton, KS., Rebecca (Pat) Bembrick, Hiawatha, KS., Yvonne Murrow, Hiawatha, KS., two step –daughters, Helen Fairy, Cross Point, IN, and Melody Scott, Independence, MO. two sisters, Mary Ann Tull, Atchison, and Betty Gage, Atchison, KS., twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. Her parents, husband, Thomas, and three brothers, David, Jerry, and John Barber preceded her in death.
