Wahnetta Ray Morgan-Black went home to Glory on August 12, 2014. Mrs. Black was born on November 20, 1928 to Wesley T. and Henriella M. Morgan in Columbus, OH. She was a graduate of East High School and a long-time employee of the Ohio Department of Corrections where she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Ohio Penitentiary, Orient and Frank Road locations. Wahnetta was predeceased by her parents, son, Raymond Stanley Murray; granddaughter, Eboni Love-Marie Murray-Davis; brothers, Ivan Lee, Clifford Stanley(Mary), Edward Earl (Louise), and Herman Dale (Mamie); sisters, Lily, Hassella Mae, Naomi Jean (Tommie) Jackson, Aurelia Ann Edmondson and Betty Jane Marshall. She is survived by daughters, Aurelia V. Murray, Dr. Carolyn M. Murray-Davis (Paul) and Johnetta E. Black-Smith (Anthony); son, Thomas A. Murray, Jr.; grandchildren, Antonio S. Murray, Ronald G. Murray, Paul S. Murray-Davis (Antjuanette), Justin E. Black, Anthony D. Smith, Jr., John V. Black-Smith, Erica Walter and Leo Devlin; three great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Black was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ (FTC) where where served on the Mother’s Board and the Nursing Guild. Mother Black continued to be a supportive member of FTC after she relocated to Powder Springs, GA.
