Cecil Weston Obituary

Rev. Cecil Virgil Weston, Sr., age 81, passed away on August 19, 2014 at his home in Porcupine, SD surrounded by his loving family. Cecil accomplished many things in his life; those accomplishments included, a military veteran, council member of the Porcupine District, Professional Educator, Security/Night Watchman; missionary for the Porcupine and Wounded Knee Churches; and a devoted Presbyterian Minister. He was also a Commander of the Porcupine American Legion Post 294. Upon receiving his GED, Cecil continued his education with four years of college; 2 years at Boulder, CO and 2 years at Black Hills State University. He then continued on later in life with his education where he received his Doctorate of Divinity Degree at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA. Cecil was a devoted and loving husband and father. He spent his life in serving the Lord, until he was called home. Rev. Cecil Weston, Sr., is survived by his wife, Charlotte R. (Marshall) Weston; his eight children, Craig Warren Weston of Porcupine, SD, Natalie (James) Hannan of Dubuque, IA, Loren (Patricia Talks Different) Weston of Fraizer, MT, Juanita (Lonnie) Headdress of Wolf Point, MT, Eric Weston of Newton, ND, Baylon Weston of Eagle Butte, SD, Martha Pettigrew of Porcupine, SD, and Simon Weston of Porcupine, SD; two sisters, Ruth Weston of Porcupine, SD and Violet (Rev. Loren) Robinson of Pine Ridge, SD; three sister-in-laws, Opal Stars of Sioux Falls, SD, Lavera Bull Bear of Gregory, SD, and Hazel Marshall of White River, SD; twenty-one grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; Gilbert and Nancy (Brown Eyes) Weston; seven brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
