Gerald Edward Jankowski passed away August 8, 2014. He was born in Ludington on April 3, 1928, son of the late Edward and Mary (Tarkowski) Jankowski. Jerry graduated from St. Simon High School in 1946. He married the love of his life, Eldean Bashaw, who preceded him in death in 2013. He retired from Harsco as an electronic technician in 1990. One of his many joys in life was taking family vacations. Some of his favorites were: hunting in Wyoming, visiting Disneyland and Disney World from their debut and wintering with relatives in Arizona after retirement. Jerry also enjoyed golfing, airplanes and working on cars or just about anything that needed fixing . He is survived by his three children, Daniel (Hilda) Jankowski, Linda Jankowski and Sheri (Craig) Tausk; five grandchildren, Tina (Allard) Hawkins, Al (Kelli) Allard, Christa (Cameron) Martin, Ariel and Brandon Tausk; six great-grandchildren, Brook, Brad and Bruce Hawkins, Dakota and Mary Elizabeth Allard and Lily Eldean Martin. Jerry is survived by a sister, Irene (Dave) Grachek, along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Eldean, sister Phyllis Hallberg, grandson John Jankowski and great-granddaughter Savannah Allard. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Ludington. Memory sharing will begin at 1:00 pm. Memory contributions in memory of Jerry may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
