Mary Lou Alwine, 86, passed away the morning of August 10, 2014 at Edison Manor. Born on November 3, 1927 in New Brighton, PA, she is the daughter of the late James and Viola Havis Watson. Also preceding her in death is her husband, the late Merrill Alwine, who passed away in May 2002.

Mary Lou previously worked as a nurse's aide. An avid sports fan, Mary Lou especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. She also loved Muskie fishing and going to Lake Chautauqua. Mary Lou also bred and raised beagles.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Linda Ross and Sandra Parasida and husband John, all of New Castle; grandchildren, Kelly Sevachko and husband Matthew, Michelle Kamerer and husband Terry, Jamie Poerio and wife Leah, and Robert Poerio and wife Sunshine; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Gary M. Alwine who died on June 24, 2014.

There will be no calling hours, and services will be private.
