Johnny Weaver

Johnny L. Weaver, 80, of Hershey, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, in Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Campbelltown. Born in Toone, TN, on March 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Nora Cooper Weaver. Johnny retired from the M.S. Hershey Medical Center where he worked in the steam plant. He was a graduate of White Haven High School, Memphis, TN. Johnny was an U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Senior Bowling League in Palmyra. Johnny was an avid Phillies fan; enjoyed hunting and fishing; and especially loved to go camping. Johnny is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Lois Shellenhamer Weaver, whom he married on December 31, 1954; a daughter, Debra K. (Weaver) Snyder wife of Lewis Snyder of Palmyra; two sons, Craig A. Weaver husband of Kathleen Still Weaver of Kalispell, MT, and Ronald C. Weaver husband of Dianne Altman-Weaver of Hummelstown; five grandchildren, Daniel, Corey, Andrew, Kristen, and Adam; and one sister, Carlene Mabry of Heber Springs, AK. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Walls, and a brother, Boyd Weaver. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014, from 6 to 8 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. A private family graveside service will be held in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the PACC Caring Cupboard, 131 North Railroad Street, Palmyra, PA 17078, or to the Lower Dauphin School District, Baseball Fund, 291 East Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
