Anna Spangler Obituary

Anna Marie Spangler, 77, of rural Decatur, died on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at her residence. Anna was born in Adams County, IN on August 1, 1937 to the late Perry A. and Bessie G. (Irwin) Everett. On October 10, 1953 she married Paul E. Spangler. Anna was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She was also members of the Tiger Lillies Ladies Club, Life member of the N.R.A., Harley Owner Group and Gold Wing Road Riders association. She worked for General Electric for 15 years and was the Assessor for Adams County from 1979 to 1982. She is survived by her husband Paul E. Spangler of Decatur; children, David (Shelli) Spangler of Decatur, Dan (Dee) Spangler of Pierceton, IN, Janet Spangler of Decatur, Ed Spangler of Decatur, Teresa Wilhelm of Huntertown and Amy (Garry) Malott of Hoagland; a brother Jack (Emily) Everett of Ft Wayne; a sister-in-law Edna Everett of Decatur; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Mellisa Mowery and 2 brothers Bob and Dan Everett. Visitation will be on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 2:30 p.m. A 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 12th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with calling prior from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Father David Voors will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Memorials are to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home and St. Joseph School.
