Jon Charles Falk, a man of faith went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday August 5, 2014. He was 61. A life-long resident of Manistee County, he was born February 15, 1953 the son of David M. and Helen M. (Wendt) Falk. He graduated from Onekama High School in 1971 and received an associate’s degree and LPN certificate from West Shore Community College. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On December 10, 1972 he married Peggy Farina at St. Joseph Church in Onekama. He was a postal mail carrier for 30 years; retiring on December 28, 2012. Jon was a member of the DAV and AMVETS. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandsons, reading and research, restoring abandoned homes back to life, attending car shows, riding his motorcycles, and driving his Corvettes over the years. He is survived by his life partner, Peggy A. Falk of Manistee; daughter, Jessica A. Turner and grandsons, Tavaris Jackson and Tyler James Turner, all of San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father David M. Falk; mother, Helen M. Swanberg; sister, Pamela L. Sedlar; brother David O. Falk; and infant siblings, Tamara Falk and twins, Nicholas P. and Nita Falk. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Final interment will be in Onekama Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jon’s name may be directed to any Hospice of the donor’s choice.
