Carlene Michaud Obituary

East Millinocket- Carlene Michaud passed away on July 28, 2014. She had been cared for at her home until the last few months of her life. She died peacefully at Katahdin Health Care with her family by her side. She was born August 4, 1915 in Benedicta, the daughter of Jerimiah and Annie Brennan. Carlene grew up in Benedicta and graduated from St. Benedict’s High School in 1933. She married Bernard Michaud on June 25, 1940. They spend 37 wonderful years together residing in East Millinocket where they raised their three daughters. Carlene had many interests throughout her life including knitting, sewing, playing cards with special friends, making cards on her computer, bingo, baking apple pies and watching the Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. Mom will always be remembered for her quick wit and great sense of humor. She could always get her point across with her feisty manner. She touched the hearts of everyone that knew her. Carlene is survived by one sister, Terese Albert of Benedicta, her three daughters, Suzanne Lynch and husband James of East Millinocket, Diane Dubé and husband Gilles of Bangor, and Kathy Laird and husband Gerry of Lincoln. Seven grandchildren, Gina Lynch Yaskula and husband Frank, Gary Lynch and wife Mary Jo, Lori Lynch Herbert and husband Tony, Jodi Dubé O’Neal and husband Michael, Carey Dubé, Rachael Dubé, Adam Laird and Tia Rush, and Nichol Laird Fisher and husband Matt. Eleven great grandchildren, Jacob, Joey, Patrick, Meghan, Mackenzie, Kobe, Kayla, Graeme, Griffin, Will and Isaac. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Michaud, her parents, Annie & Jeremiah Brennan, her sisters, Thelma, Maddie, Patsy, Gladys, Virginia and one very special granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Michaud. She was also predeceased by a very special friend, Leonie Dubé, who died July 28, 1998. We appreciate the many years of love and dedication given to mom by her care givers Jean Kinney, Sharon Smyth, Naida Brown and Carolyn York. They made it possible for mom to be at home until the last few months of her life. Her granddaughter, Carey Dubé, who is now residing in Chile, lived with her nana for several years and developed a special bond with her. Nana will always be looking over her and taking care of her. We would also like to express our special thanks to Dr. Jenkins and all the staff and residents at Katahdin Health Care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St, East Millinocket, with Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery. Donations in Carlene’s memory may be made to Katahdin Health Care, 22 Walnut Street, Millinocket, ME 04462.
