Mr. Milton Ratliff, age 59, of Rockhouse Branch Road, Vansant, Virginia, passed away Sunday (July 27, 2014) at his home. Born May 10, 1955 at Little Fox Creek, Virginia, he was a son of the late Glenn and Lillie Boyd Ratliff. A lifelong resident of the area, he was baptized July 6, 2014 and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He retired from VDOT in 2008 with over thirty years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawson Deel and Vince Ratliff. Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Glenda Ratliff of the home; one son, Emory Ratliff and wife, Mary of Davenport; three grandchildren, Alexia Ratliff, Chelsea Ratliff, and Emory Wade Ratliff; one sister, Faye Vance of Abingdon; two brothers, Clarence Ratliff and wife, Bertha of Cedar Bluff and Garmon Owens and wife, Hollean of Swords Creek; his mother-in-law, Mary B. Wood; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Wampler, Regina Wampler, Pandora Ray, and Vivian Ratliff; two brothers-in-law, Kester Wampler and Rodney Ray; special cousin, Arlene Boyd and wife, Glorigene; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Robert Tiller officiating. Interment will follow in the Ratliff Cemetery at Little Fox Creek, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends, James Barton, Keithel Breeding, Wayne Lambert, Clinton Barton, William Lester, and Raymond Johnson.
