Mrs. Polly Ann Maxfield Honaker, age 71, of the John Simms Hill section of Finney, Virginia passed away Friday (July 26, 2014) at her home. Born November 25, 1942 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Chloe Iolet Singleton Maxfield. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of Cleveland High School and a member of Reeds Valley Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening, ceramics and crafts and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one baby brother, James Paul Maxfield and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, Fred Honaker of the home; one daughter, Patricia Ann Ray and husband, Ernie of John Simms Hill; one son, David Honaker of River Mountain; eight grandchildren, Joseph Ray and wife, Kasey, Christopher Ray and wife, Lindsey, Sarah Arms, Jonathan Ray, Aaron Honaker, Katie Honaker, Laura Honaker and Ethan Honaker; four great-grandchildren, Landon Ray, Lucas Ray, Madison Ray and Kaylee Arms; one brother, Tony Maxfield and wife, Barbara; five sisters, Jean Belcher, Linda Maxfield, Diane Owens and husband, Johnny, Nina Harrison and Lula Honaker; aunt, Joann Adkins and husband, Casey; uncle, James Coy Singleton and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Elder John Fields, Elder Larry Blevins, Elder Danny Smith and Elder Darrell Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Maxfield-Singleton Family Cemetery on New Garden Road in Honaker, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Steve Maxfield, Kevin Maxfield, Paul Asbury, Tracy Sammons, Austin Owens, Aaron Honaker and Ethan Honaker. Chad Jessee will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
