Woodville – Nancy C. Costain, 70, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 24, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was born September 22, 1943 in Portland, the daughter of Harland and Marguerite (Lear) Young. Nancy grew up in Holden and graduated from Brewer High School, class of 1962. Nancy and her beloved husband Timothy moved to Millinocket and started their family in 1963. This Sunday, July 27, would have marked their 51st anniversary. Nancy enjoyed playing beano and working with ceramics. She also enjoyed camping, most especially with her family at Katahdin Shadows Campground in Medway. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Costain of Woodville; three children, Larry Costain and his companion Tammy Mishou of Holden, Michael Costain and his wife Diane of Braidwood, Illinois, and Debbie Girsa and her husband Stephen of Millinocket; seven grandchildren, Ryan Costain and his fiancé Jessica, Krystin Remick and her husband Chris, Robert, Jonathon, and Haley Costain, and Tyson and Jessicca Girsa; three siblings Harland Young and his wife Carol of Leander, Texas, Judith Coffey and her husband Larry of Atlanta, Georgia, and Marline Richard and her husband Paul of McClough, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy will also be missed by her special friend and neighbor, John Oxley and Elaine, as well as her four legged friends, Toby the dog and Katie the cat. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the East Millinocket Ambulance crew, and also to the nurses and staff at Millinocket Regional Hospital for the loving care given to Nancy and the kindnesses extended to the family. There will be a special gathering to celebrate Nancy’s life on Saturday, August 2 from 2-5 P.M. at Katahdin Shadows Campground in Medway.
