Gertrude Shelly

Gertrude Clare Fletcher Shelly, 83 of Winchester, VA, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at Evergreen Health & Rehab in Winchester, VA. Mrs. Shelly was born October 26, 1930 in Stephens City, VA to the late Dewey A. Sargent and Nora Sullivan Sargent. Along with her parents, Mrs. Shelly is preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis M. Fletcher; her second husband, Charles Shelly; one sister, Frances Affleck; three brothers, Edward J. Sargent, William J. Sargent, John S. Sargent and one son, Steven R. Fletcher. Mrs. Shelly retired in 2008 from The Winchester Moose Lodge where she worked as a Prep Cook. Mrs. Shelly was also a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester, VA. Surviving Mrs. Shelly are two sons, Lonnie A. Fletcher and wife Diane of Hedgesville, WV and Roger Lee Fletcher and wife Sandy of Cloverdale, CA along with five grandchildren. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-p.m.-8:00 with a 7:00 p.m. rosary service. A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 am with Reverend Stanley J. Krempa officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
