Dorothy Jane Etchison, Age 95 of Ludington died Saturday morning July 19, 2014 at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington. She was born on December 22, 1918 in Ludington the daughter of the late Samuel F. & Margaret (Drach) Meers. She attended Ludington High School and graduated with the class of 1937. She married Lt. Col. Harold W. Hansen on March 21, 1942 at Grace Episcopal Church in Ludington. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1956. She enjoyed playing bridge and time with her grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by two sons; Tom Hansen of Kalamazoo and Tim (Janice) Hansen of Ludington, by three granddaughters; Jodi (Chad) Mortensen of Ludington, Kim (Steve) Lemke of Royal Oak, and Jennifer (Jeremy) Lassiter of Portage, MI, and eight great grandchildren; Jacob & Anna Mortensen, Mackenzie, Andrew, & Conner Lemke, and Tenley, Ashlyn, & Bryson Lassiter. In honor of Dorothy’s wishes there will be a private family service with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name to the Salvation Army for their Food Pantry.
