Mrs. Ethel Marie Hess Reynolds, age 61, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (July 11, 2014) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born April 18, 1953 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Tilda Jane Stacy Hess. She spent her early life in Buchanan County prior to moving to Russell County and she was a 1971 graduate of Honaker High School. She was a member of Mountain View Community Church and enjoyed gardening and participating in Russell County Fair competitions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one half-brother, Curtis Hess. Survivors include her husband, Earl “Joe” Reynolds of the home; three daughters, Donna Palmer and husband, Kenny, Melissa Smith and husband, Jamie both of Honaker, Virginia and Kayla Reynolds of the home; two sons, John Reynolds of Honaker, Virginia and Earl Reynolds and fiancée, Jessica Clark of Saltville; five grandchildren, Travis Palmer and fiancée, Samantha Taylor of Honaker, Virginia; Courtney Palmer and fiancé, Cody Charles of Lebanon, Virginia; Lucas Palmer, Scotty Smith and Hailey Smith all of Honaker, Virginia; one expected grandson; two step-granddaughters, Madison Clark and Rachel Clark; one brother, Virgil Hess and wife, Mary; two sisters, Debbie Reynolds and husband, Jack and Elizabeth Hess; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Harmon and Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery at Kent’s Ridge, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Travis Palmer, Kenny Palmer, Jamie Smith, Brian Whitt, Cody Charles and Howard Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Mullins, Jack Reynolds, Lucas Palmer and Scotty Smith. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Monday.
