Everett Mooney

Everett Wayne Mooney age 82, passed away at his home in Hood River, Oregon on Thursday July 10 surrounded by his loving family. Everett was born on April 1, 1932 in Gillette, Wyoming to Guy Mooney and Lola (Forbes) Mooney. Everett and his family moved from Wyoming to Hood River in 1936 when Everett was 4 years old. He lived in the Hood River Valley his entire life. After graduating from Odell High School in 1950, Everett joined the Air Force. In September of 1956, he married Margaret Ruth Walkin and they started their building business together. Everett was self-employed as a Building Contractor for over 50 years in the Hood River Valley. He and his family also ran a small orchard for over forty years. In his free time, Everett enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. Everett is survived by his wife Margaret (Marge) Mooney, his son Guy (Alisa), daughter Sherry (Annie) Mooney of Seattle and son Grant (Ginnie) Mooney. Grandchildren - Brandon (Alisha) Mooney and Colton Mooney of Herriman, Utah; and one great grandchild - Reagan Mooney (Brandon & Alisha). Everett is also survived by sisters Oramay Hartley & Patty (Ray) Galligan and brother Fred (Patty) Mooney - all of Hood River. He was preceded in death by his son Greg Mooney and his sisters Winnafae Adams and Norma Lee Hayes. Visitation viewing is set for Wednesday July 16, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Anderson’s Tribute Center 1401 Belmont Avenue Hood River, Oregon 97031. Graveside services are set for Thursday July 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pine Grove Butte Cemetery 2687 Van Horn Drive Hood River, Oregon. Please join the family in celebrating Everett’s life at the family farm immediately after the graveside service at 4776 HWY 35 Hood River. The family suggests that Memorial Contributions be made to Hospice of The Gorge and can be sent in care of Anderson’s Tribute Center 1401 Belmont Avenue Hood River, Oregon 97031 Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
