Kimberli Ann Scrim Hooks Obituary

Kimberli Ann Scrim Hooks, 39, of Shenango Township passed away the afternoon of July 5, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness.


Born on September 14, 1974 in New Castle, Kimberli was the daughter of Richard and Sandra Farbo Scrim. Her parents survive in New Castle. Surviving at home is her loving husband, Robert C. Hooks whom she married on September 8, 2001.


She was a member of St. Vitus Church. Kimberli was a 1992 graduate of New Castle High School. After graduation, Kimberli went on to graduate from Clarion University and Slippery Rock University. Kimberli was currently a special education teacher with George Washington Intermediate School. Kimberli’s calling was teaching and it showed through her work and devotion to the children she was surrounded with.


She was a selfless person and was always doing things for others. The greatest joy in her life was becoming a mother to her two boys, Grason and Talen and sharing all of their activities together as a family. Kimberli was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched through her teaching.


In addition to her parents and husband, Kimberli is survived by her two sons at home, Grason and Talen; her brother, Thomas Scrim; her sister, Rosemarie Scrim; both of New Castle and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Velvet and Carl Hooks of Brackenridge, PA.


She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Paul F. and Rose Mary Farbo, her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Marie Scrim and her uncle, Thomas J. Farbo.


Visitation is Tuesday from 3PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.


A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM officiated by Rev. Father Frank Almade.


Entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum.
